I bought a rifle through BudsGunshop.com on an auction on GunBroker.com using the BUY IT NOW feature. The sale went through and I received all of the appropriate emails stating that I was the auction winner and that I would have to contact the seller within 5 business days to work out the details of the transaction and that by participating in the auction and winning the auction I had entered into a LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT TO PURCHASE THE ITEM FROM THE SELLER.
I was then contacted by BudsGunshop.com and told that they did not have the item. I called them and they said that they did not have the item and would not get the item and that the sale was canceled. I was under the impression that by buying the item at an auction site, I had entered into a LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT TO PURCHASE THE ITEM FROM THE SELLER. Apparently this does not work both ways. Budsgunshop.com had no problem telling me where to go when the decided that they did not want to honor their end of the deal. Budsgunshop.com made no effort to compensate me in any way. I would rate them as an unethical business at best.
Ive not yet had the time to determine what me legal status is being the holder of a contract that is supposed to be legally binding but which they dont feel obliged to honor.
